This will describe the most basic of pedicure treatments that can even be done at home if you have the proper equipment. The trick to doing a pedicure is not to do it on yourself. Get someone to do it for you. Ideally, it should be your loved one doing it for you for you to feel real relaxation and rejuvenation.

Just follow these very simple steps and learn:

Step 1: The first and most important step in any pedicure is to soften the often hard skin and nails on the feet.. There are a variety of ways in which you can do this easily. The easiest way to do this is to simply dip your feet in a tub hot water until everything softens up. It’s the easiest method but isn’t exactly the most “rejuvenating”.

Step 2: Next you need to apply cuticle cream to all around the nail area and leave to nourish and soften the cuticles for a few minutes. Then, using an orange stick, gently push back cuticles in tiny circular movements all around the nail plate. Be sure to be gentle and don’t be over-zealous with pushing the cuticles back.

Step 3: This step involves the shaping of the toe nails. You need to cut the nails to the length that you like always remembering to keep the edges near the cuticles longer then the middle to prevent in-grown nails from happening. You then need to file the nails and round them to the appropriate shape.

Step 4: Next, buff your nails to get rid of ridges. Apply cuticle oil to rid you of cracked cuticles that may be present.

Step 5: Using a cotton bud dipped in nail polish remover, gently wipe excess oil from the nail plate, under the nail and across the tip. Before applying polish use a high quality base coat. Its agreed that the most important element in keeping a great appearance is a good quality base coat, never skimp on this. When applying nail polish, remember that lighter colors, pastels and iridescent shades will flatter bronzed skin. Dark colors can appear harsh and are more high maintenance, since every chip shows up.
