Pedicure Treatment for Dry Skin – Deep Moisturizing
This is one of two pedicure methods to deal with dry skin. Personally I recommend that this is the best method of dealing with dry skin as it is both less invasive as also carries much less risk compared to filing.
What I mean by deep moisturizing is a combination of both a very rich moisturizer and also the treatment to make the moisturizer absorb into the dry skin faster and more effectively. There are certain types of moisturizer that are specially developed for dealing with excessively dry skin or serious dry skin which is more often than not found on the feet due to the thickness of skin there.
The first thing to do is to actually apply the deep moisturizing lotion to the afflicted areas. The proper method is to actually soak and wash you feet first in warm water to open up the pours to accept the lotion. Next you must heat the lotion up by applying it to your hands then rubbing it till it becomes warm then apply it. When applying it be sure to keep massaging in the lotion for at least a couple of minutes as this makes for good absorbsion.
This is the most important part of the treatment. Many people seem to forget that after applying the lotion the feet should be wrapped in either glad-wrap for at least 15 minutes of a thin fine-woven sock should be used. This is to ensure that the feet don’t loose any of the moisturizer if you do decide to walk around or accidentally rub it off something. The moisturizer must be on the feet for at least 10 minutes for it to effectively absorb into the deeper parts of the dry skin.
